Liquid cooling
SYZAX carriage are equipped with a liquid cooling inlet / outlet. Liquid cooling can be useful for applications in high temperature (cooling effect) or low temperature (heating effect) environment or to limit own thermal effects in high precision applications.
Example of air compressed connexion, liquid cooling connection and axis hybrid cable connector for power, measure and motor temperature.
Protective bellows
In cases where the axes must work in «dirty» environments, it is recommended to equip the SYZAX axes with protective bellows. These can be mounted on all versions of the SYZAX range.
Bellows are guided and so they can be used in any axis orientation. End plates are provided with air inlets to create a positive air flow under the bellows if needed.
Option easily retrofittable on existing axes and can be ordered after installation.
Air flow inlets (cleaning function)
SYZAX carriages are equipped with an air flow / vacuum inlet. Due to the precise and continuous adjustment between carriage and track, applying air or vacuum is an efficient way to improve cleanliness.
For dirty environment operation, it is recommended to blow air through this inlet to create a positive air flow from the carriage.
For cleanroom operation, it is recommended to apply vacuum to the inlet to create a negative air flow from the carriage, to limit particles emission.
When using protective bellows, the end plates are also provided with an M5 inlet to create a positive air flow under the bellows.
For ultra-clean operation, additional vacuum inlets and stainless-steel protections can be provided on the carriages, do not hesitate to contact us.
Weight compensation and brake
The SYZAX modules working vertically can load up to 50 Kg with the use of a weight compensation cylinder which can also be used to brake the axis. The corresponding elements are part of the standard program and can be ordered directly from the SYZAX Configurator.
Option easily retrofittable on existing axes and can be ordered after installation.
When weight compensation is not required, an internal, air actuated, normally closed brake can be fitted in all axis as an option, to protect sensitive equipment from collisions upon power loss or manual actuation.
It will provide:
- Dynamic braking to stop the axis in case of pressure loss (emergency stop, power outage).
- Axis lock when machine is powered down.
